Album Notes

Formed in early 2008, Short in the Sleeve are carving a niche in the Memphis scene with their unique brand of engaging, literate folk-pop. The four-piece is comprised of singer/guitarist Jason Middlekauff, lead guitarist/keyboardist Chris Mirante, bassist Kyle Reed, and drummer Jeremy Anderson. Having played local venues for over a year, the band recorded their debut EP, Field Day, at Young Avenue Sound in late February. The four-song collection ranges from shimmering folk-pop to spare Americana, matching tales of self-destruction, love, regret, and faith with smart, melodic songcraft.
