Album Notes

Destructive. Aggressive. Relentless. SIX FOOT DEATHTRAP.

Six Foot Deathtrap's punishing style began to take form in San Diego around May of 2002. As the music took shape,it became apparent that the name SIX FOOT DEATHTRAP was appropriate for the developing tone... SIX FOOT DEATHTRAP's brand of metal is focused on a core signature sound while being textured with a wide variety of influences from Pantera, Machine Head and Killswitch Engage to Alice in Chains and Tool.

Anchoring the band is the bludgeoning rhythm section commanded by Johnny Verbeek, who is hellbent on destroying anything in his path. Johnny is aided in his pursuit of destruction by Derek Waters, whose sick bass tones add dimension and color to the low end...

Layered within are the raw, heavy, harmonized and aggressive signature guitar stylings of Scott Rockstead and Reuben Valenzuela that SIX FOOT DEATHTRAP is pleased to call their own. Awesome stage presence and a punishing guitar attack is what you can expect each and every show.

The message of SIX FOOT DEATHTRAP is voiced by frontman Zack Tanous, whose pivotal stylings create moods ranging from disquiet to pure rage within a single phrase. From singing to downright angst driven screams, Zack will leave everything for you on stage to contemplate.

Although plentiful crushing slabs of heavy guitars, pounding rhythms and larynx shredding vocals define SIX FOOT DEATHTRAP's style, the ability to overlay this direct assault with subtle nuances is what keeps their music evolving.

The collective result is a thundering aggression unique in style and diversity.

This is my Helter Skelter
A message on the wall in blood
Legacy of my existence
Let every word be understood

Metal is missing quality, back to the basics, pure metal. This band delivers where most fail. This CD takes you on a ride that leaves you satisfied, quenched, wanting more. If you like Vindication just wait for the new stuff, heavy, brutal, meaning full, well written.

Pure musical violence. In a good way.

On Vindication, Six Foot Deathtrap strikes the elusive balance between being brutally heavy while also being listenable. This is something the American metal scene has been sorely missing since the demise of Pantera. The songwriting on Vindication is top notch, as the band knows how to break up the intensity of the pounding riffs with the odd guitar harmony, shredding solo, or clean passage. Vocalist Zach Tanous showcases excellent versatility, his delivery ranging from throat-shredding screams to haunting clean melodic singing. In short, if you like Pantera, Slayer, or Machine Head, Six Foot Deathtrap is highly recommended.
