Album Notes

Formed in early 2001, this Seattle-based five-piece continues to refine its introspective, pop-laced indie rock style. Drawing on the inspirations of two unique songwriters, SIX SELECT offers a distinctive sound, combining compelling, melody-driven vocals and dynamic, creative instrumental backdrops.

SIX SELECT recently worked with the talented Once For Kicks front man, Bill Coury, and resident Seattle rock guru, Kurt Bloch (Fastbacks), on its latest effort, Boiler Room.

PRESS...

"The group's jangling pop clarity is balanced with a moody darkness that leans towards theDoors-drenched new wave of Echo and the Bunnymen ("Pierce the Veils") and the Teardrop Explodes ("Shit in Line")...Boiler Room is a very accomplished set of music for a relatively young band and sets a high bar for Six Select to hit on their next (hopefully) full-length release."

~Amplifier Magazine, May-June, 2004

"In a generation when musicians are brought together simply to fulfill our idea of the "band", it's refreshing to find one as authentic as Six Select..."

~Performer Magazine, January, 2004

"They excel at cross-genre guitar stylings - from clean jangle to gritty raunch...This years' five-song CD Boiler Room showcases the band's songwriting flair. The beautiful hypnotic quality and Darren's tribal round-the kit drums make the single-worthy "Summary Observations" one of my favorite songs."

Solid vocals? Check. Stellar songwriting team? Check. Tight, fluid musicianship? Check. Great live show? I'll get back to you if my wish is granted and they visit us here in Chicago.
