very satisfying jazz-
author: Will Fudeman
"Nuts and Bolts" brings inspired musicianship of Seth Kibel on sax and flute and Susan Jones' beautiful violin playing, with terrific side players (esp. piano). For someone who sometimes can't listen to jazz, this CD is extremely listenable. I recommend it highly.

Wonderful fun!
author: Delf
I searched the web for a jazz player whose name is SETH, because I have three kids, the other two have jazz names, Jonah (Jones) and Ella (guess). So, it was important to my Seth to find a jazz playing Seth and not only did we find one, we found a good one. All of us have enjoyed the CD and the other night at dinner when it was Seth's day to pick the music for dinner, guess what he picked. I know this is an odd way to learn about someone, but for us it has really been great! THANKS for the music!

Superb straight-ahead acoustic jazz (with influences from many other styles)
author: W. Gary Wetstein
While I've been fortunate enough to have played jazz with Seth on and off over the years, I've never heard him sound better than on this album. I had never heard Susan Jones before, but after hearing this disc, I can honestly say that she's managed to create an expansive, richly beautiful sound from one of the most challenging instruments in jazz, the violin. Their voices blend together perfectly, and the rhythm section provides unerringly tasteful yet driving support.
Unlike so many other acoustic jazz albums, this one is not a string of endless, meandering solos. The arrangements are interesting in themselves, and provide lots of opportunity for interplay between the musicians even when simply stating the melody line.
The composition of the band changes from track to track, creating interesting tonal variations rather than sticking to the same personnel throughout. Seth himself provides much of the tonal variations by playing not just tenor sax, but also clarinet and flute with equally accomplished style.
There's no average playing on this disc, and no average musicians. Instead, we get a collection of brilliantly played originals influenced by all sorts of musical genres, from funk to klezmer to latin, yet all comfortably encased within the overall style of straight-ahead swinging jazz. Don't miss this one!
