Album Notes

Stephan Johnstone was born and raised in Devils Hole, Bermuda and is one of the few, if not the only Bermudian Poet to release two full Spoken Word albums before the age of 26. Stephan, who is also a graphic designer, award winning Webmaster and entrepreneur has been writing for as long as he can remember. Yet, it wasn’t until 2005 when he met James Brookes, owner of Limestone Productions, through mutual friend Mandela Fubler and started to perform regularly at Bermuda’s only open mic session, Chewstick, that he started to take writing seriously. In 2006 he released his debut album entitled Broken Thoughts and won Best Bermudian Spoken Word Artist at Tha Underground Awards. Stephan describes Broken Thoughts, which was released online for free download, as the sound track to his life up until that point. His sophomore album, The Script Keeper, can be described as the sequel to Broken Thoughts. It was released on April 20th 2009.Today Stephan lives in Toronto, Canada where he works for a small design firm gaining experience before returning home to Bermuda within the next few years. So Keep an ear out for his next album, currently titled “Spaceship Earth”, but in the mean time enjoy his Broken Thoughts and The Script Keeper.
