Album Notes

This is a crucial compilation of incredible reggae tunes. Professor Skank ain't playing. This is serious stuff, with over 60 minutes of intense music, a 16-page booklet with info and lyrics and some of the best reggae you've ever heard. Truly Crucial Reggae!

The subtitle refers to the bands being from Dominica, St. Croix, St. Thomas, St. Vincent, Canada and the U.S. These tunes show that true roots reggae is alive and doing quite well “from outside Jamaica.” A portion of the sales is also going to the excellent charity, "Doctors Without Borders." Here's a comment from a satisfied customer:

Hey Prof, You were right -- "Crucial Reggae" is killer, and that is not a term I have the opportunity to throw around a lot. Each track is great and you put them in just the right order so that the entire cd is a moving audio experience. I skip tracks on all of my other cds, but not this one. I played the cd a little too loudly on my screened-in porch the other day, but, instead of complaints, I discovered several other listeners sitting outside so they could hear too.
