El Ritmo de la Vida was awarded the 2007 Western Canadian Music Award for "Outstanding Urban Recording".
El Ritmo de la Vida is Skavenjah's fifth album, and was released in 2006.
During their 17 years together, many bands have come and gone, but with the upcoming release of their new LIVE album - One More Night With You - Skavenjah remains one of the constants in the world of SKA music. Skavenjah has worked very hard to become one of North America’s premiere SKA bands, and their strong songwriting and incredible live show are proof of that. From their home base on the prairies the band tours relentlessly, continually expanding on it’s already dedicated worldwide following as they consistently sell out shows with their trademark mix of SKA, Reggae and Soul music.
In addition to over 20 International compilation appearances, Skavenjah has released 6 full-length albums – Put Some Skank In Your Tank (1993), All Dressed Up (1996), Little Monsters (1999), Light It Up (2003), El Ritmo de la Vida (2006) and One More Night With You (2009).

El Ritmo de la Vida initially drew me in with the title track and a couple of other catchy songs like Save the World and Good Old Days. But it was the rest of the tracks that kept me listening to the album over and over again. I still love the catchy songs, but now acknowledge how great the other tracks are. Skavenjah now puts up a very tough fight with groups like the Toasters and the Specials for my stereo.
