Formed in Detroit in the early 90's, by bassist Andre Royster, Skinhorse is one of the first post-electro-industrial bands along with Final Cut, Code Industry and artists from Detroit's DJ and techno cultures (Derrick May, KMS, Plus 8, etc.) to realize that the dance floor is the true core of Detroit's Underground set.
Skinhorse makes a point to embrace both technology & live instruments, going from the digital domain and back again.
Their recorded work is an E.P. titled "Heavy Beats-Deep Grooves".
Also, there are four music compilations that feature the Skinhorse tracks.
"Darkness and the Machine",a Detroit electronic/goth music comp.featured 2 tracks by Skinhorse, "More Life (Blade Mix)" and "Give To Me". "Industrial Chaos" a Midwest Industrial/electronic compilation features the bands first recorded song "Black". The third is a Detroit music compilation of various music features the song "Detroit" as the opening track.The band also produced a track on the Detroit Iggy Pop tribute album, "POP O.D.the songs of Iggy Pop" The song is "Funtime", performed by Kristivawith Skinhorse accompanying.
