Strong vocals and a blend of electric and acoustic guitars make the Skinny Little Twits a favorite at many L.A. area venues. Their originals are catchy with a decidedly classic rock feel and are made unique by the members widely varied influences.

notes

Based out of the Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valleys, the Skinny Little Twits were founded in 1991 by guitarist Mike Pieper and other "honorary" Twits. Writing together, they created a moderate rock sound with influences including Eagles, Doobie Brothers and Eric Clapton. Early performances were casual coffeehouse gatherings with other musician friends lending their talents to the mix.

After several years, the band took on a more permanent direction. The current Twits line-up began to solidify in 1997 when Rich Mortlock joined as co-lead vocalist. Shortly after, guitarist Chris Cardenas was introduced. Scott Spencer (a guitarist in the original line-up) joined the Twits as bass player in 2000, and drummer, Jeff Swisstack, joined in 2004.

In 1998, the Twits released a self-titled CD that was an instant sell-out among fans. At that time, they opened for acts such as Christopher Cross for which a review stated, "...whose music is more substantial than the name implies."

In 1999, the Twits began recording their second CD. The year 2000 was highlighted by the opportunity to perform as the opening act for Weird Al Yankovic on his "Running With Scissors" tour! In April 2001, the Skinny Little Twits released their long-awaited second full-length CD, To The Rescue!.

The Skinny Little Twits continue to write and perform shows throughout Southern California.
