Album Notes

Skippy and the Bellbottoms is technically one man who normally goes by the name Jeff Maynard. Years of playing around the Knoxville scene in various bands and projects has molded him into the polished songwriter and arranger that he is today. Precise technical skill on a plethora of instruments create a perfect bed for his fresh, melodic social commentary to rest upon.

What Happened to Turn Signals, the debut release from Skippy and the Bellbottoms, is a journey through a vast sea of social observations and bittersweet nostalgia that is as moody and dark as it is uplifting and thoughtful. With the intricate touch of producer Arrison Kirby, the disc combines modern minimalist electronics and effects with an organic pop sensibility reminicent of Wilco, The Beatles, My Morning Jacket or Modest Mouse.
