The best part of the day
author: Bill Fredette
As a father of three boys, now nearing the end of the "Tuck me in, Daddy" phase of childhood, my fondest memories are of times we've spent together at the end of the day. Bedtime in our home always included stories and music. As a result, my wife and I became well acquainted with what is available in the lullaby genre, and we always appreciated most those albums that appealed to us as much as to our three sons. This is one of those albums.
In Daddy's Lullabies, Skip West has created the perfect accompaniment to those quiet hours at day's end. His arrangements of the traditional and original songs on the disc are spare and beautiful, and he delivers them in a quiet baritone that calms both parent and child.
We own dozens of lullaby collections, but this is one of the select few that still finds its way into our CD player now that the days of Wynken, Blynken and Nod are largely behind us.
