Shelly Knight and The Livin' Dead are a Classic Rock band out of Austin Texas. Shelly has been a long-time FM radio D.J. and started signing years ago in The South Austin Gospel where she developed her own special style of combining gospel and classic rock. This is her first solo release, Shelly had previously released an album with her bass player and song writing partner Eric Leikam, which received rave reviews and worldwide radio air play. In this CD Shelly explores her rock and roll roots, harkening back to the days of Led Zepplin, Janis Joplin, and Bad Company. The results are a collection of 11 "smash hits,' sure to please any Classic rock fan. Here's what folks are already saying.
"In the time devoid of the female rocker, the Joan Jett's and the Lita Ford's of the world, along comes something refresheningly new yet strangely familiar. Combining heartfelt lyrics with kick as jams, Shelly Knight just might be the oasis we've been searching for."- Jonathan Pond/ Warner Brothers Records
"The Led Zepplin Girl"- Mark Burger/Atlantic Records
"A rocking debut form Texas Lone Star," - Alan Rommelfanger/ Daybreak Entertainment Radio Promotion
"Shelly's voice is soulful and sweet," -Austin Insite Magazine
"The next big thing" - KGSR Radio

Shelly makes my night!
author: BluesBunny
With the able assistance of the Livin’ Dead, Shelly Knight delivers a powerful, almost raucous performance over the 11 tracks on this album. This is the kind of music sounds so good in a car (perhaps a ’74 Dodge Monaco?) in the dead of night when you are on the road to nowhere. Anyway, to the music. “Runaway Mama” tells the tale of a woman escaping from domestic violence. “Love like a Wheel” rocks the house. “Lyin’ Lady” is a single in waiting (BluesBunny fondly remembers vinyl!) and “Cool Daddy” features some fine surfing guitar playing. A solid recommendation!
