Doctor Skoob & the Acoustic Groove of Lubbock, Texas create a cosmic mix of funky Americana folk rock that never seems to stop evolving from one moment to the next. Their unique blend of musical genres are held together by great originals, intense improvisational skills, and a true love for what they do.
Though the band at its base is built around lead singer and songwriter Doug Haines (a.k.a. Doctor Skoob), each member is vital to their head-bobbing sound and foot-tapping groove. The band consists of Fletcher Murchison (acoustic & electric mandolins), Anne Luna (standup bass), Nic Shute (trumpet, percussion, & slide whistles), Zak Sloan (lead & slide guitars), and Mike Bernal (drums & percussion).
Egos are never an issue with this band, as each member of Doctor Skoob & the Acoustic Groove listens, reacts, and gels with one another as they flow through their musical journey night after night. Come and take a trip with the Skoob!!!
