Music That Needs To Be Heard!

Here's a short review of SKOOTA'S album, "Step Into My World," from someone who is entirely impartial, and has nothing to gain, financially or otherwise, by promoting this music.
The Short Version: If you haven't already explored this CD, do yourself a favor, and get the album! It's deep, fun, and definitely a worthwhile investment of time and money.
The Longer Version: This CD has much to offer on many levels, and the listener can "take it" at whatever level(s) are appealing to the individual. From a technical standpoint, it's clear that great care was taken with the arrangements, percussion, and in getting a "tight" recording, and I, personally, can envision a group of people spending hours every day, for weeks at a time, in a studio, living with this music, to make it sonically represent and reflect the larger meaning/feel of each song. On the artistic front, the writing is both fun and creative; it speaks of personal events to which we can all relate, of goals to which we all aspire. Artistically, the strongest aspect of the album, to me, is SKOOTA'S amazing vocal performances. With a three-octave range, and a gift for bringing emotion to listeners through the timbre and tone of his voice, SKOOTA is a standout performer. I must mention, however, that it is easy to forget about the technical and artistic sophistication, because the music is so very fun!
It was a pleasure to work with "CD Baby." The album was delivered rapidly, and in good condition, and "CD Baby" expressed much concern about my happiness with the transaction. Good company, "Baby!"

A great new CD from a performer full of promise. Wonderful fusion of R&B, dance and hip-hop elements from the 80s, 90s and present. Glad that I bought the CD, can't wait to hear more from Skoota.
