Album Notes

Looking for THE LAST REAL MEN IN AMERICA? Meet Skurvy the Clown.

Guitar. Bass. Drums. Punk. Rock and Roll has been dead for a decade and nobody noticed. Somewhere under the stinking corpses of grunge, hair metal, pop punk, alterna-pop, and any other multi-worded pseudo-descriptive catch phrase that has been used to describe music lately is Skurvy the Clown.

Welcome to the world of three disaffected guys that don't give a shit and are proud to say so. Formed on a dare several years ago, Skurvy the Clown has churned out a large catalogue of songs that relate their special brand of humor. Their first album, If I Was Married to Courtney Id Blow My Head Off Too, featured such widely unappreciated songs as I Wanna Be Ron Jeremy, 2 Inched 2 Minutes, and Love in My Sock. And while it peaked somewhere below the lowest number on the album charts Courtney has maintained a steady record of sales over the years and has even been spotted on bootleg trading lists. (The band would like to mention that they know absolutely nothing about bootlegs.)

Skurvy the Clown spent much of 2002 blowing their accumulated savings of $4.75 as well as what little money they could scrape together to record their second full album, Obsessive Repulsive. Rumor has it that one of them may have actually gotten a job.

Obsessive Repulsive shows Skurvy the Clown in all their garish humor. From songs about girlfriends that find God, to tributes to the King, Skurvy the Clown provides commentary on many aspects of popular culture and intelligent insight into dealing with problems encountered in the modern world. Who are we kidding? Obsessive Repulsive is funny, catchy, punk rock. If you want to laugh and can deal with having a few popular, sensitive issues boiled to a crisp then shout halleluiah because Skurvy the Clown has risen again. If not; then grow up. Go home. Water your ferns. Relax, enjoy some Pat Robertson and get a good nights sleep. Just like your parents.
