From the limited edition CD liner notes:

This album, my soundtrack for this past year, is mostly about trying to be present in the moment while going through a difficult time. I’d like to thank everyone who has kept me in their heart during this period of challenge and change.

The Bottom Drops Out - If there is a possibility it can happen, it will. And it did. I’m thankful that I fell up a lot of the time when it did. Again, thanks to all that lifted me up.

Compassion For My Machine - There’s a part of me, my machine, my auto-pilot, that gets threatened when it becomes obvious that what I’ve been doing up to that point isn’t working anymore, and more likely, never has.

You Can Get There From Here (sorrow to joy) - The same chords are used in both the sorrow and joy sections of this song. The difference being that they fly in different skies. One in a dark and cloudy sky, the other, sunny and breezy. What makes up sorrow and joy is the same thing. One is missing the other while the other rejoices having it.

Let It In Let It Out - We die with every out-breath and come back to life with every in-breath. Letting go of what we no longer need and then building on what remains.

It Didn’t Always Smell Like That (For C) - This song uses perfume as a metaphor for a relationship. There are three parts to a fragrance: the top notes, the sweet initial impression; the heart or main body notes, which act to mask the often unpleasant initial impression of base notes; the base notes, which bring depth and solidity. The notes should unfold over time, harmoniously, one into another. First blush, what lingers, and what remains.

The Shimmer And The Shadow - A shimmer of light and then back into the shadows and then a shimmer ...

No I In Me - The “I” has about as much to do with my true self as the American dream has to do with true happiness. I am here now is such a large place, being one with everyone and everything. Great work if you can get it.

Sit - Be still in this moment. Without expectation, preconceived notions, or judgment.
Let yourself and the world be exactly as it is. Nothing else needs to happen.
Sit firmly in the world of awareness.
