For the uneducated: THE SLAGS – this was one of the first girl-rockbands in Germany, during a time, when the guitarist had to be imported from the Bavarian outback, as musicians where rare. Time has changed. The Riotgirls where founded and several popacts let many girls learn the guitar, drums or bass and found their own band. THE SLAGS are the original, known for going their own way, not caring about conventions- authentic. They don´t care about being politically correct just for their career as the Riotgirls, nor do they want to play the piano for Sony Music.THE SLAGS produced with Subway Records in the backyard. During the psychedelic Dance-boom in Frankfurt they broke up and there were several musical solo projects such as Lava Enterprise, Nova Driva, Lava 303, Scylla…

In June 2006 the CD Run Free was produced in the Blubox-Studio in Troisdorf in cooperation with Guido Lucas. After the songs where recorded, the band took the production to their own studio in Frankfurt: So there was time to work and experiment on details, such as psychedelic effects, space sounds and percussions and also to invite guest-violists to accompany two songs.

The result: 11 songs: fresh, mature and easy going…
Psychedelic Soulpunk: wild, melancholy, and also dramatic.
Spiced by dildo sounds, wale-guitarsounds, psychosounds and viola. Like well aged wine, finally brought up from the cellar that spreads deliciously from head to toe.

The meanwhile fifth studioproduction of the Slags Run Free is going to be released in April 2007 by the band-owned Label Slag Records (Slag rec).
