Slant 6 and the Jumpstarts have been creating music for over 18 years, both through recorded releases and public performances.
Our output ranges from 45 rpm record to CD.
We sometimes headline, other times serve as an opening act.
We've shared the bill with celebrities ranging from the late Sam Kennison to the Grass Roots, and from the fools to Bop Harvie.
Despite minor personel changes, the core of the band remains intact:Don Thurber and Neal,Mark Elisa, and Jim Ouellette.
Releases and shows feature regular accompanying musicians, especially "Bongo" Mike Sheehan and Mary Ouellette.
Slant 6 and the Jumpstarts (ASCAP members)recieve regular international airplay via varios radio formats. Our favorite is the great Dr. Demento.
Slant 6 and the Jumpstarts are excited to announce the release of thier new CD:LOOK OUT BELOW! It includes a variety of comedy/novelty originals and parodies.
Also included are four special feature tracks performed by Elisa Ouellette.
LOOK OUT BELOW opens with "Big Dig", a parody of AC/DC's "BIG BALLS".
The tune focuses on the outrageous over-run costs of this gouging project that never seems to stop diiging into the pockets of the taxpayers.
Track 2 "Teenager on Drugs" , is based on the old Dion & the Belmonts song "Teenager In Love".
The third track , "It's lonely(Underground)",is an original alternative rock piece providing a glimpse of life after W.W.III.
Additional tracks that may be of interest to listeners listening for a laugh include "HELLEN KELLER" ("HELTER SKELTER") and "SENATOR KENNEDY" ("ELEANOR RIGBY").
Both are parodies of Beatles songs.
