Album Notes

SLAP K. [Born Dionate’ Hart on March 3, 1982; in Gastonia, NC] began writing rhymes as a freshman in high school. Inspired by; Slick Rick, Rakim, N.W.A, Redman, Nas, Jay-Z, 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G, Lupe Fiasco, KanYe West, The Game, Lil\' Wanye, Ludacris, T.I., Rick Ross, Sonny Rich and many more.
In 2001, at age 19, SLAP joined the United States Army. He took a break from the music until his second tour in Korea, in 2004-05. It was there, where he would start back writing and even join in battles; he came in 3rd place in his first battle. The battle would lead SLAP to recording his first track.
After Korea, SLAP would then go on assignment to Hawaii. While in Hawaii; SLAP linked up with fellow soldiers Lo-Key and King James. Combining with the rhymes of Lo-Key, and the production of King James, SLAP & Lo-Key would introduce Hawaii to IBL. Inspired by Life; a name the two felt fit the description of their combined styles. In late 2006, IBL completed their first project together: The Mass Punishment Mixtape Vol.1. In 2007, the duo would increase their buzz by performing in local night clubs.
Currently, since SLAP’s departure from the army, SLAP has worked on solo material and continues to grind as an underground artist. He competed in the Loud.com online competition and was also featured on Slip-N-Slide Records: On Da Grind [Nov. 2007-Jan. 2008].

CURRENT PROJECTS:
GASHOUSE FINEST (mixtape) Hosted by DJ Prince (G Unit/Dumout DJ)

I did this mixtape to represent my city. Being so close to the \"Queen City\" of Charlotte, NC; Gastonia is small. Although a lot has happened in Gastonia: parts of the movie \"Talladega Nights...\" was filmed in Gastonia, NBA Legends James Worty and Eric \"Sleepy\" Floyd, are from Gastonia, NC; nobody has really had an impact in the music department. That\'s where I come in to place. I hope everyone who loves hip hop/rap music will enjoy this mixtape. As a matter of fact, if you love hip hop/rap you\'ll love this mixtape. More music coming soon, stay tuned!!
