ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Truth,Consequence,and Triumph
From the West Virginia foothills to the California mountain pines, SlapShoeFly formed in November of 2004 in Nashville, Tennessee. Two songwriters Johnny Callahan and Jason Conley, decided to start a band
that would defy the structure and boring repetition of today’s radio and record label puppets. Later joined by songwriter, Tristan Baam, they uphold and relinquish, show after show and song after song, an undying love for music and direction. With combining showmanship, using wood, steel, air, and the ever illusive muse, they wad their worlds up into paper balls time and time again. This is truly a band based on feeling and passion. SlapShoeFly channels the high lonesome Appalachian sound and the earliest blues and folk roots they found through modern performers. They believe that there is more to music than a flashy show or an erotic sound. There is a proof that we are all individually one and the same. You can find that proof, show after show, in the words and passion of the SlapShoeFly as well as the eyes and ears of the people who watch and listen.

Can't stop listening
Can't stop listening to the music. Songs constantly stuck in my head. Some of the best heart-felt lyrics I ever heard. Everybody needs a Slap Shoe Fly CD.

Unlike anything else on the scene. Pure, raw and amazing. Great guitar riffs and Jason Conley's voice is incredible. Methadone mama, holden sky, wicked man, lose... i could go on. they are all great songs.

The poetry in this music opens a door to my soul.
Poetry about life, yours and mine, is transpired in the songs written and sung by Slapshoefly. I've seen John Prine, and these guys match his lyrics with every note and woven word. The poetry in each song comes from the soul and touches mine. I wonder, "how do these guys know me?" as I listen to "Decades in the Grain." Keep up the spirit of touching rainbows and shadows and dancing with them. A Ho!

JASON, YOU GUYS GOT IT!!!!
I love this CD. I think these guys are going all the way with this one. I have known Jason for years and he is one of the most talented persons I know and he and the boys are going to do great things in the music industry. My ten year old son loves Holden Sky. This is the sweetest song about how a father is lost when he's away from his child. Keep doing what your doing and you'll go far. My favorite song is MY WAY,it's soooo good!!!! GO BUY THE CD

Side Pocket Chisel

know where you've been, knowing where you are, know where to go
these songs epitomize a heart moving venture linking past sounds with a present feel. Living, modern day marauders rolling through the time where war and wrong has no place. Only sweet sounds with appreciation of truth and the right way fly. Looking forward to the next live, living room session, but for now thaks for the good vibration cd.
