“Swirl” is a very creative and lofi cd with indie rock songs that vary widely in style, sound and feel. Somewhat like Yo la tengo, They might be giants and Beck. This 2007 digitally remastered/remixed version of Sleeping Dogs Lie’s debut 1996 tape is combined with 10 new songs. Some of the new additions are old songs that have been reworked and some are brand new songs that have never been released. A couple of the new songs are Myspace favorites including "You're too old to ride a pony" and "Stick it to the man".

These songs were selected from over 100 songs that were the initial Sleeping Dogs Lie recordings.

The Swirl cds being sold right now on CD Baby are limited-edition hand-packaged cds in a homemade box with 22 individual lyrics cards with various pictures and commentary. After they're sold all sold, that's it! Just the regular jewel-case cds from that point on...

Sleeping Dogs Lie music is generally an odd mix of lofi experimentation and lyrics that range from the somewhat clever to the downright odd. The music itself is usually an interesting combination of melody and tone. There are currently 80 songs available on iTunes and other sites.

Sleeping Dogs Lie is name for a loose group of musicians in the West Palm Beach, Florida area headed up my songwriter Eric Guenette. SDL started in 1995 with a Tascam 4-track in an apartment in West Palm Beach, Florida with a Thomas organ, two guitars, bass, drum machine (Dr. Uma Chine in the credits) and a $19.95 Radioshack Realistic microphone with the idea of writing music that was purely a cure for boredom. Songwriting and recording went on everyday for a year and half straight... As more songs were written, the whole thing was becoming more interesting as the creative song writing process evolved. I wasn't sure where I was going with it or if I could even call myself a real songwriter... Even to this day, for some reason, I don't look at myself as a songwriter... just some guy that's making organized noise? Anyways, There are more and more people out there that seem to really enjoy whatever it is I am doing. So, why stop now?

SDL music is essentially rock, but there’s a lot of lofi experimentation and unique chord arrangements combined with offbeat subject matter in the lyrics that makes Sleeping Dogs Lie what it is.
