Album Notes

slight pieces are marissa and mark andrea. Hailing from San Jose, CA, the duo features instrumental, ambient, guitar tunes inspired by the sounds of Tin Hat Trio, Angelo Badalamenti, Sonic Youth, Yo La Tengo, Dirty Three and Erik Satie. Marissa dabbled in classical guitar in her pre teens and flamenco in later years and is, presently, stoked on strumming/plucking the telecaster . Mark spent the late 80's and 90's playing guitar and in the punk trio don't mean maybe.

Slight Pieces: Degausing is evocative and lush- recommended for those who create art, for those who would love to enter into the world of art, and for those who can see landscapes with their ears.

tired of looking for quality lo-fi instrumental music that you can listen to while doing... other stuff? these moody evocative dark/light pretty/soulful pieces can be just the thing for painting, writing, driving, puttering and/or altering your consciousness (oh wait don't do that while driving--but you know that). it's also of course good for listening to, period. but for creative types of every stripe, DEGAUSSING is an excellent stimulant.

Reminds me of Verlain's Warm and Cool or John Fruciante's 1st

slight pieces degaussing is a great instrumental guitar album up there on my shelf of cool guitars with Tom Verlaine's Warm and Cool and John Fruciante's first, mostly instrumental, album. These are ambient, bass-y, rich tunes played with a subtle flare by mark and marissa andrea. i love this album and play it all the time. It's catchy and meditative. Memorable and great stuff. So glad it came into my life. Leo Fender would be proud at what's being done with his Tele's on this one what a great sounding record. --Journal of Aural Hermeneutics
