HERITAGE YOU CAN HEAR
We average about 60 days on the road each year, playing county fairs and cowboy gatherings, then play an equal number of club dates over the off season. Everywhere we go, folks ask for certain songs, many of which are hard to find
So here are songs of the west that you've asked for again and again. There's a good sprinkling of successful songwriters like Bob Nolan, Tim & Glenn Spencer, a touch of Marty Robbins and Smiley Burnette, and others.
Many cowboy songs arose from stories told of western work and everyday life, later set to music. We included some of these, the work of cowboy poets now long gone (Gale Gardner, Jack Thorpe, Curley Fletcher).
The fact is, whether it reaches us in a purely traditional form, or via the interpretations of the silvery screen, this music is one of the true folk forms of western North America.
