"Sli” a nickname taken from the letters of his first name (Sellaci) started his Djing career back in June of 1992. Being of West Indian decent and named after Emperor of Ethiopia Haile Selassie, Sli always felt like there was a higher calling for his life. He decided to pursue his love of music with a positive spin, DJing.

In early 1997 Sli began collaborating with Islan’ Chick Entertainment artist Abbey Kyat who had recently begun her career; Sli spun records as Abbey chanted. Soon after, Sli purchased equipment and began producing and DJ Sli then added ‘Producer’ to his title. Sli started exclusively producing later that year since people were requesting his unique beats because they sounded like nothing else.

"My influences are DJ Premier, Large Professor, Dr. Dre, Pete Rock and mostly Jay Dee" says Sli. Sli calls his style "no-format producing, I just jump in and make it". Sli’s Atlanta ‘Lion’s Den Lab’ studio is equipped with an MPC-2000XL, Triton Pro and FL Studio and various other keyboards and workstations. “I'm not anything out of the current scene in Hip Hop; I'm just fresh from something you used to remember."

Since the release of what Sli thought would be his only full length album SLI- M.C. (Mic Clappin') Vol.2 (The Relic), Sli has produced 5 tracks on Abbey Kyat's "2008 Virginia Reggae Award Nominated Album” “Bouk Time”. Sli produced the title song ‘Bouk Time’ and the hit single/SocaOpera song `Me (Mi) Nah Know!' Sli is very proud of the nomination.

And, after a long string of side projects including J.O.- “The X-Periments“, Mike Cold’s critically acclaimed “Much Love” and The Jr'S- “We Back” did so well Sli decided to put out another full length effort, Sli-Pro- M.C. Vol. 3 (The Transform). The Transform, laced with positive sizzling vocals, hypnotic melodies and Sli-Pro’s unique brand of curse free Hip-Hop, has already been coined “A masterpiece”. Sli-Pro’s “M.C. Vol. 3 (The Transform)” comes hard to an eardrum near you………… Enjoy.
