Happy-go-lucky though she looks on the cover of her new album, Safe Passage, the local strummer/songwriter is blessed with a dark, discordant edge that sets her apart from the acoustic hordes. Her imagery of devils and angels, armor and thunder, certainly calls the Indigo Girls to mind, but the fact that she can pull that style off without a harmony vocal to lean on is a testament to her talent.
