Album Notes

What exactly is "Original Classic Rock and Roll"? Sly Dawg is a 5 piece band from northern Indiana that has captured the very heart and soul of classic rock and roll as the basis for their original music. To quote the great Charles Fach Jr., former executive VP of Mercury Records, "...Brilliant guitar riffs and vocals to die for... They will rock you!"

Their debut CD, Lonely Life, has garnered airplay at over 60 radio stations in the US and Europe with fantastic reviews and are quickly becoming an influencial force shaping the future of modern rock music. Brisk CD sales and enthusiastic "word-of-mouth" advertising have resulted in significant "buzz" and a grass-roots following from Texas to Alaska, Oregon to New York, and internationally in Germany, France, Morocco, and the UK.

We have been described as having the guitar styles of Foreigner, Molly Hatchet, or Lynrd Skynrd with the vocal styles of Sammy Hagar, Greg Allman, or Bob Seger. These are all influences on our style - to be sure. But, we're also charting some new territory for the "Classic Rock" genre with our music.

If you like high, whiney vocals, then Sly Dawg is NOT for you. Steven Lee Kerry, our lead vocalist and primary song-writer, puts his heart, soul, and entire being into his vocals. The great Charles Fach, Jr. former VP of Mercury Record who was responsible for the careers of BTO, Rush, Kool and the Gang, Rod Stewart, and many others, was at one of our shows in Indianapolis. His observations confirmed what we already knew about Steven Lee - "Rock and Roll vocals at their very finest".

Members of the band are;
Steven Lee Kerry - Guitar and Lead Vocal
Jimmy J Smith - Lead Guitar and Vocal
CR Green - Bass Guitar and Vocal
Ben "Buster" Black - Keyboard and Misc Percussion
Scotty Ousley - Drums

This is a must buy - listen to just a couple of tracks and you will see why. At last there is a band that puts out a CD that contains not just one good song but a full CD of good songs.

How long has it been since we have had any GREAT ROCK? The wait is over... This is the kind of music that we all miss from the HairBand's but, with a fresh twist. The great thing about SLY DAWG is that it is just that.. SLY! It sneeks up on you, everything has the familiar sound that we've been looking for. This is the best thing that has happened to rock since Dave got the boot and Sammy came to town!! Overall the guitar and vocals are just what rock has been missing for the last two decades!!!!!! 4 lighters up
