Album Notes

With their debut CD "Cowboy Zen", SlyWay brings it's own alternative rock/ acoustic folk sound to the musical spectrum. Based in San Francisco, the band was formed in 2004 by singer/ songwriter Patrick Kobernus. Songs on the CD combine influences from rock, pop, jazz, country and folk styles. The band uses driving rhythms, strong melodies, guitar layering, and well-crafted lyrics to create songs that are musically complex, yet catchy and appeal to a wide audience. The songs explore themes of love, death, honesty, and forgiveness.

Musical influences include The The, The Cure, Collective Soul, Cake, Neil Young, Violent Fems, U2, Goo Goo Dolls, Beatles and Rolling Stones.

CD includes song lyrics and quotes from famous and not so famous spiritual teachers.

Your Love Is Alive stays alive to the very end.
author: Diane Wayne

Beautiful, heartfelt lyrics about a boy/man and his father, the moment, and the passing of time...Eloquent, passionate guitar playing and male vocal tells the poignant tale with fresh abandon and emotional committment. Well done. Super job with guitar and voice alone. Nice finish as a soft drum kit and bass support. Your Love Is Alive stays alive to the very end.

Like Chocolate!

SlyWay has great ingredients to it, the lyrics are so PURE and you feel as if its Patrick singing about his life, or even about whats going on with you. The guitar is RICH with its deep feeling of the things that make you smile. Drums being SOLID yet SOFT with a beat that flows perfectly with what Patrick is singing. And lastly the bass is the COMBO. of everything, combining the lyrics, with the guitar and drums. That is how you create a band that succeeds (with Chocolate), and that is EXACTLY what SlyWay has done with their music

Truly brilliant performance here. this is just a great album and it makes you sit a listen to every word, the beat is wonderful and the lyrics are simply breath taking. The singer has that ROBERT SMITH quality about his voice that is very rare these days, the drummer does a great job and the guitar work is just super. This is a album to buy and I think it would grow on most people very quickly, you get great lyrics and fine music rolled into a truly brilliant performance. Well done chaps. keep them coming ... you can`t help but notice a class act like these.
