After the album “Crossroad Ritual” which was released in 2006, The Small Blues Trap present their new album titled: “Red Snakes and Cave Bats”. The new release contains 12 new songs and an arrangement of the song “Buy a Dog” that was firstly written and sang by the front man of the BLUES WIRE the oldest and most popular Greek Band, Mr. Elias Zaikos.
The Small Blues Trap were formed in 2004 having as their stomping ground their villages in central Greece. What brought these young men together was the need to express themselves through the music and the musicians they loved such as Howling Wolf, Little Walter, Tom Waits, Captain Beefheart and so on…
In this new album, the Small Blues Trap manage to successfully blend their blues passion which constitutes their “raw material” that has been inspiring them with other elements and music genres. The end result is extremely personal as well as unique. This album will undoubtedly in the process of time give the band some very special traits that would lay the foundation - for a recognizable character and style. As Mr. Zaikos puts it, “This band dares to experiment with sounds so as to differentiate itself from what is being considered ‘predictably expected’.”
