Small Eyez is a new rapper on the scene with the kind of potential that will make the strongest MC jealous with envy. He calls his EP Vipassana (Mind Musik), which is defined as "to see things as they really are". That alone sets the tone for what his music is about, someone who takes a firm grip of reality and tries to reveal its wounds. He reminds me a bit of Ice Cube right after he left N.W.A, add to that some hints of Del The Funky Homosapien and Xzibit. In "Holly-Wood (Tryna Get Big)" he tells us about the ambitious dreams that can be achieved if one obtains fame, yet is able to turn around and explain that even the riches paths aren't paved in gold, as he does in "Look Around You".
Small Eyez is ready to record with the big leagues, and this is just a rough draft of the damage he is capable of doing. A few of the songs feel empty for a moment when the choruses hit, and not saying he needs to sing or add his cousin to do a few interpolations, but I think making those sections stronger will result in something more solid. The inconsistencies in sound levels are very few, but that's very minor compared to what I feel he's trying to deliver through his music.

Positive lyrics that are socially conscious are also a rare gem in the indie hip-hop world so it’s great to see someone like Small Eyez bringin’ hip-hop back to its origins. - J-Sin
