Album Notes

This long-awaited live recording from Small Potatoes includes some new settings of old Potato Favorites plus a whole bushel of previously unrecorded concert gems. This is a real concert experience – with all the great stories and the bad jokes of an evening with the Spuds.

Small Potatoes says, "WVBR’s Bound For Glory is a fabulous and lo-o-o-o-ong running (40 years) live radio show with a very much alive audience broadcast from Ithaca NY. Phil Shapiro has been hosting these shows for all that time. If you were listening on the radio on any given Sunday night, you’d hear three sets of live performance interspersed with three more sets of recorded music. We boiled down six of our visits between 1998 and 2006 into a three set show, just like you’d hear if you were tuning in."

thanks - not my interest .... also, my hearing no longer is able to sort the words out... sounds need to be clear - like Pete Seeger songs, for instance. Have fun.

I first heard Small Potatoes when a program on my local community radio station, WFHB-FM, played "Avocado." I made a note of the group and the name of the CD and tracked it down. Now I've listened to the whole thing, and enjoyed it tremendously. I hope SP come to Bloomington sometime; I'll be in the audience, singing along.

Live folk music is always more entertaining. This is an awesome album with some of my old favorite songs and a few new ones.
