Jim's semi-mellow twitchy pop rock stems from his years in Hawaii singing harmonies in a Beatle cover band, joining the Ray Davies songwriting course in England, and carefully observationing the strange beings that share his planet.

Oh, how he wanted his new CD to say "all instruments played by Jim Smart". After all, he had played the drums, the bass, the acoustic and electric guitars, the keyboards, and almost everything else for the new ten track album "Bone Daddy". But no. Chris Chorney had to ruin everything by playing a bit of cello on one of the tracks. So there goes that plan. Let's just say "almost all the instruments by Jim Smart" and leave it at that, shall we?
