Album Notes

Sam Mellon and The Skylarks debut recording was captured on an analog 16 track machine at House of Faith Recording Studio in Oakland,CA with engineer Bart Thurber. Wanting to remain true to their Alt-Country/ Americana Roots-Rock sound, the Skylarks recorded this collection to 1 inch analog tape which provided a rich sonic palette harkening back to a bygone era of music recording. Mixing and post- production is nicely performed by Dave Ray with engineering assistance from Ed Tree and Jon Griffin. Mastering was performed by Myles Boisen in Oakland, CA.

The finished product captures the sound of the birth of a band that respects the soul of the genuine music which inspires them, and marks as inspiring origin for what's to come from this band.

The Skylarks are currently playing all over the Southern California area. Check their web-page to find out about upcoming performances.

These guys have a fiercely American sound that is hard to pin down, but they will grab your heart in -- well -- a heartbeat. Happy and playful one minute, wistful (even sad) the next -- they prowl your hometown for a while (and oh yes they know where you live) --then you're invited around the corner and down the road a piece. Pretty darned swell!
