Scott McKnight is lifelong DC-area resident. He started playing at a local clubs in the mid-1970s. He played in DC pop band The Neighbors from 1985-1989, his own band Naughty Pine, Kevin Johnson & the Linemen from 1991-2000, The Grandsons, and in Last Train Home since 2000. He is a very busy man.
The songs on Scott's debut double-CD, "It Works For Me," were recorded in various Northern Virgina basements and bedrooms and DC rehearsal studios between 1986 and 1999. Scott is well-known as one of the best songwriters in the DC area, and his songs have been covered by many artists. Some examples of his best-known songs are "It Works for Me", "One of Those Lives," and "The Big Mistake (Was Yours)" (all covered by The Grandsons), "Wouldn't Be Easy" and "Written on My Heart" (covered by Kevin Johnson), and "All Gone Now" and "I Recall Thinking" and "All Eyes Go" (covered by Last Train Home).

What a value....
author: Paul Dirks
The Grandsons had just come down to the Virgin Islands for a tour and a couple of their songs stood out as being PARTICULARLY clever (they're all pretty good.) A quick google revealed that Scott McNight was the songwriter whose work stood out to me so I figured I'd buy his CD and help spread the good karma.
It didn't occur to me that his "CD" would in fact be 2 full length CD's just chock full of clever songs (45 in all!)
Standouts include the title cut, One of Those Lives, Things I'm Not and We Own a Baby Now!
