Steven Meyer, a solo fingerstyle guitarist performing regularly in the Madison area, announces the release of his debut CD: Steven Meyer Plays Guitar, Choice Selections For Solo Guitar.
Personal requests from fans for a CD prompted this recording, which documents highlights from his performing repertoire, especially the smash solo version of Linus and Lucy (Peanut's Theme). Steven's music explores the rich historical and cultural heritage of solo guitar and he continues to develop a dynamic mastery of improvisational expression.
Steven is a Wisconsin-born guitarist and has worked to develop a unique creative voice in virtuoso solo guitar. Steven brings a multi-faceted capability to many genres of music, including Classical, BossaNova, and Jazz/Pop. His playing can be described as artful, passionate, and sophisticated. Steven has gained the poise and musical maturity that can only be gained from many years of study and performance.
