The album captures only a small part of Tony Smiley's talent....his live performances are truly amazing. High energy, driving dancebeat; like watching an acrobatic Cirque du Soleil as he flies between instruments laying tracks. Blinding fast or lyrical guitar, trancelike bass, rockin drums, --he does everything, and could solo on any one if he chose. Nice voice too. His haunting sound reminds me of Bono and U2 with a hint of David Bowie crossed with Hooti and the Blowfish. "Confessions" and "Messiah" only scratch the surface of his current work. Must see; must dance.....!

This will move you around…

…when it gets in through your ears. I was recently loaned this CD, and love it so much I look forward to buying my own copy as soon as it's available again. Tony Smiley gives me everything I want in music, and every track is succulent, rich and satisfying. Fine lyrics, gorgeous, energetic arrangements, loads of style and substance. This music has shot immediately to my "Top 10 favorites" list (which, admittedly, is bulging with about 40 best-ever artists, but it's still a list I'm very picky about). Tony's an amazing talent.

Layers of Awesome

Tony Smiley's mad-crazy loop-ninja skills incorporate a wide variety of instruments -- from keyboards to vocal beat-box -- which layer each song with its own texture. From the finger gymnastics of "Done Doggin'" to the frank tenderness of "Story Book" to the rock-n-roll of "Confessions", Smiley's debut album is the work of incredible talent.

A genre that breaks all genre. Not to be missed because if you do you will miss all the summer breezin and reeling guitar magic. A well woven master of heartfelt and pushy lyrics that grab your senses. Style points for a lush album cover!
