With a sound that is both feral and heavy, Smilin Liar is quickly establishing itself as undeniable force to be reckoned with in the Rock / Metal scene. The band’s intense performance style and energetic stage presence has already landed them opening spots for such national acts as Papa Roach, Saliva, Dead Poetic, Project 86, Blindside, Flyleaf, 36 Crazyfists and more. Smilin Liar’s previous album, “So Mrs. Kennedy, How Was the Drive”, not only received nationwide acceptance from countless college radio stations but also helped the band make a major TV debut when it was featured on MTV’s Road Rules: The Inferno and Road Rules vs. Real World Challenge.

Hot off this success from their last album, Smilin Liar is eager to show the world their latest release, “Shotgun Melodies”. In this new album, the band has delved deeper into their southern metal influences while still keeping the brutally honest style that they are known for. The result: a devastating combination of driving guitar, ravenous vocals and crushing rhythm that is approached with tiger like ferocity. The delivery is straight forward with no gimmicks and no filler. Smilin Liar shows the world that you can still have good time rock n’ roll and be unabashedly heavy at the same time. “Shotgun Melodies” will definitely be the band’s proudest moment to date.

Press for Smilin Liar:

“This quintet riddles your body with multiple gunshot wounds of nail-sharp guitar leads, swirling bass grooves, and pounding drums all met within a vortex of screamed vocals and melodic singing. Smilin’ Liar don’t play nice, they play for keeps…” – Smother Magagzine

“My advice: Get in a fight with Smilin Liar, take off the bandages and tell a few friends” – Rift Magazine

“Smilin' Liar show that you don't need a major label backing you to spit out heavy, well written rock songs” – The Punk Site

“Shotgun Melodies” is in stores now. Smilin Liar is already racking up dates for the rest of 2007 and into 2008. Check the shows page and myspace.com for tour details.
