Album Notes

The age of separation and segregation in music is nearing an end. We should all do our best as musicians to combine styles and work as a community to keep the true spirit of our art alive. Our band does our best to stay honest to ourselves, entertain every crowd we play for, and have a voice in todays society. To mesh old tones with new ideas while maintaining a consistent pulse of new music. Trying to push sound in a new direction or at least give it a little tap. The Slow Moving Machines are here to make music, perform music, and to do our part in the world we are part of. This planet is shrinking. So to any one out there that is listening and wants to do some good. The Slow Moving Machines are trying too.

Quintessential Jams With Slow Moving Machines
author: Michael Canter
To me, Slow Moving Machines is a jam band in the truest sense of the word. They genuinely take pleasure in performing for their audience no matter the size of the crowd. I came away with a truly live experience, as if I was witnessing an impromptu rehearsal session that was as tight as any choreographed performance I have ever seen (think Beatles on the roof of Abbey Road Studio). Slow Moving Machines just jams, and they have a lot of fun doing so. I would love to say that this band is underrated, but they just need a little more notoriety. They are simply excellent musicians that aren’t very full of themselves. Bailey is a great guitarist as well as a talented vocalist, and his licks scream to be auditioned for “Guitar Hero ITo me, Slow Moving Machines is a jam band in the truest sense of the word. They are simply excellent musicians that aren’t very full of themselves. Bailey is a great guitarist as well as a talented vocalist, and his licks scream to be auditioned for Guitar Hero IV. Joe is an above average bass player who too often hides himself off to the side of the stage, preferring to let Bailey have the spotlight. That’s not to say he doesn’t have his moments. Many of the band’s best songs feature his bass with the other members feeding off his subdued energy. Witness the opening of one of their older songs, Waiting For Green and you will understand what I am saying. Kris provides the backbeat for the band on drums, and hits every beat with passion and the precision of a Swiss timepiece, never missing time and keeping coherence even as the band blissfully strays into extended versions of their songs. These guys truly get it, with each performance starting in unobtrusive fashion leading to a final crescendo of crashing cymbals and smoking guitar solos that leaves their fans craving more. All in all, call Slow Moving Machines free-form progressive rock at it’s finest, three guys who truly enjoy their work and treat every gig like it’s a sold out show at Madison Square Garden. A consummate jam band, Slow Moving Machines stays true to themselves and true to their fans.
