Album Notes

This is Shawn's first full-length album released on compact disc. There were two albums that came before Better Days (Shawn Eric Mullins and Everchanging World), but they are seriously out of print (Shawn doesn't even own a copy of the first, although his momma does).

Recorded at Nickle and Dime Studios, Shawn co-produced this one with Don McCollister, a young up and coming producer with several big records already under his belt. Travis McNabb, now with Better Than Ezra, played drums on several tracks.

For true Mullins fans, it is a must have. Better Days features 23 year old Shawn, backed-up by a full band. The album also showcases Shawn's long time guitar player, David Patterson. Shawn also co-wrote two tracks with Billy Pilgrim's Andrew Hyra and Kristian Bush.

The single off this album, This Time Last Time, enjoyed some college airplay, and with this album's release, Shawn began to enjoy a steadily growing fan base in Atlanta and throughout the southeast. In addition to all the originals, the Kris Krisstofferson cover is certainly worth checking out.

Shawn Mullins' Best Work

As a Shawn Mullins fan since the early '90's, and owner of Everchanging World (on cassette) I can say that this album is my FAVORITE of all time. I actually got to see him and the band practice many of these songs in the Fine Arts Building several times at North Georgia College. Every time I listen to this album, I wish that Shawn would find a way to get these songs on the radio. Shawn's mellow acoustic-like voice combined with some great band work is a must have for any fan. If you can't afford $13 for this - let me know. I'll buy it for you! YES, it's that good.

A great collection of songs! Even with a band behind Shawn he still delivers that acoustic style he's known for. Highlights are This Time/Last Time and The Dream. I'd definitely recommend this CD.

This is the kind of music I love- honest and pure, sung by a captivating voice with talented musical backing. It feels like listening to a talented friend.
