ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Hi, Snowkid here,
I'm a songwriter and storyteller piecing together a universe through my music. I've been playing drums for 16 years as well as guitar for 4 years and piano/keyboards for 5 years. When I write songs I try to do as much as I can alone and then feature other great vocalists to bring my lyrics to life.

With my first album, 'Skyrunner', I experimented with different styles outside of my melodic metal comfort zone and the songs collectively act as a precursor to an epic adventure ahead.
While my lyrics are crafted to give clues to a story, I write them out of true emotion and personal feelings. Feelings that everyone shares from time to time, so I hope others can somehow relate to it, no one is alone.

I love music and I compose very generously with many layers and details. I gravitate towards heavy metal fused with symphonic melody and harmony. I strive to make the music and vocals sound as big as possible, I love film music and the 'larger than life' appeal of cinema and theme parks! So naturally I try to capture this in my music and storytelling and as the story progresses, the music will get bigger and bigger!

I make music because I love it, the feeling I get when I make others happy through music is one of the best I've ever had. To me, that is my true goal, I want to help others.
As much as we don't like to admit it, we live in a pretty cold and dangerous world and while there are good things in life we must cherish, tragedy still strikes every day, every hour, every minute. As I grew older and had the real world unveiled to my innocent eyes, I struggled to accept it and still do. I can't help but feel pain and sympathy every day for those people who are suffering, sad and lonely.

However, one part of this hurts me the most and really disturbs me.. The fact that there are children suffering everyday and being forced through horrible experiences at the fault of adults. Adults who are supposed to care for them and protect them! While we hear about the most sickening and heartbreaking cases in the news and on TV, many people don't comprehend that these things happen everyday in our own communities and go unnoticed.

I want to do something to help children in these situations, even if it's only small, it still counts. So I will be donating half of the profit from 'Skyrunner' to the Alannah and Madeline Children's Charity in Australia! They help children in need across Australia by providing comfort to those kids and families taking refuge from domestic violence while also helping to rehabilitate children who have had traumatic pasts.
It would mean so much to me if you bought a copy, so we can help these children and so I can make more music for you too!

This album is about being yourself and being proud of who you are. Whether it be times of joy or sorrow and hate, everyone has the right to express their feelings in a healthy way and be understood. I may only be a small songwriter, but I create my music without compromise. Live your life without compromise, be the best person you can be and if you ever need a song to compliment those feelings, I would be honoured to be your voice of expression.
