Album Notes

Once in a while you discover an artist whose music connects with you in a lasting way. Fran Snyder's music is like a phone call from a far away friend - warming, fun, enlightening, and refreshing. It's like the way you feel when you reconnect with someone you didn't even know you missed.

"Stir" is Snyder's first full length CD - a follow-up to the "Someone is Watching" EP which earned him rave reviews and a loyal following throughout the eastern U.S. With this new album, Fran delivers some of his best rock and pop music to date.

This is not the kind of album that lulls you into a coma with "alternative" sameness. While the tracks on the album all have a common acoustic thread, each song has a style very unique from the rest. You will hear some great rock tunes, touching ballads, and even an acoustic instrumental. The work is moody, articulate, and touching.

Think of being at an open mic where Peter Gabriel, Del Amitri, Toad the Wet Sprocket, John Mayer, and Dave Mathews showed up. "Stir" will give you a taste of that kind of an evening.

*****

Fran Snyder has built a music career the hard way, playing small clubs for many years before reaching the concert halls and the college concert circuit. Now he tours as a duo called Six Strings and Vinyl (also available here) which combines groovy acoustic songs with a DJ who spins funky beats and adds bits of spoken word. Very unique and fun.

Quotes
"Stir is highly melodic, strikingly poetic and intelligent" - City Link, Ft. Lauderdale FL

"This one willl settle into your day like a welcomed breeze. - JAM Magazine

"From his opening chords, it's obvious that Fran Snyder has created a tour de force. Fran has certainly established himself as one of the most contemporary singer/songwriters.....but he covers songs like... Osborne's "St. Theresa" to the max. It's pleading tone and impassioned delivery.... vaporize the original." - Folio Weekly

"One of Florida's Best Exports" - State Paper, S.C.

"Fran's songs brim with positive energy!" - the Point 102.5 FM
