Soar (Medieval Movie Soundtrack)

by Soar

This all Intrumental Acoustic album was recorded with nothing but a single layer of acoustic violin, cello and guitar. This unique young trio can replicate the sound of the album live, taking you to the winding hills on a misty Celtic morning.

Album Notes
SOAR are a unique Brisbane based Instrumental Trio. The trio includes Tim on Cello, Raphael on Violin and Jason on Acoustic Guitar. The trio focus on creating music that is unique but does not require an unusual taste. Their debut album "Medieval Movie Soundtrack" is a 10 track album with just one layer of each instrument throughout the album, proving that a live string trio can create an atmosphere without the need for fancy electronics or backing tracks.
The songs are not what you'd expect of a string trio. They are not traditional sounding folk songs. These songs are written intuitively rather than being a cut and paste of folk standards.
Guitarist Jason says, "I try to play in a way that is enjoyable. Most of my tunes are quite easy to play but very enjoyable, especially when I have the trio along side me. We don't even need a power socket to replicate this sound, and yet I think it's very atmospheric".
"Medieval Movie Soundtrack" features some very upbeat songs as well as some more mellow tunes. It also features an 11 string guitar solo.
While the album can fit an easy listening classification, there is still a little instrumental prowess here and there for budding violinists, cellists and guitarists to perhaps be inspired by.
