Album Notes

Seeking Obscure is a one man band, featuring the aggressive talents of bassist(foremost)ROB LUCKIE. Unlike many other one man death metal projects, ALL instruments are played live, including drums; no machine here!Determined to show that Wyoming can produce brutal metal that is on par with many of the heavy hitters in the scene, SEEKING OBSCURE is geared to make its mark in the metal world. The project has been coined to having tonal qualities of Morbid Angel mixed with Slayer like hooks.

CAUSTICTRUTHS.COM REVIEW:

UNBURIED/SEEKING OBSCURE Split CD
Metalbolic Records

Unburied starts off this split CD with a dose of chunky, dirty death metal with programmed drums and with an overall greater simplicity. It achieves its intended results while staying mostly at a midpaced level. At a faster speed it probably would have been unlistenable considering their style. Seeking Obscure is a slightly different band. While its main objective is to punish the ears through guttural death metal, it’s obvious that there’s more going on here. The obscure guitar work brings to mind the dark atmosphere of old Greek bands like Necromantia. Its distinctive bass work is also intriguing. Both bands use movie samples to enhance their songs, not sure if it works in their favour though. These songs stand on their own just fine and it would be interesting to see what they come up with next.
