This is a great disc and gets lots of play wherever I may go.Some of the musicians in this band used to be in Neon Black and the influence is heard right here. This disc flows well, and has a cohesiveness within the 5 songs on this disc.Pete Tebar is a talented singer and really shines on this disc-listen to crash course monkey(Hagar influence?)I hope to hear more from this band soon, they are a cut above the ordinary, and this disc begs for more material to be released!!Find this disc, buy this disc, you will be very pleased-ROCK AND ROLL!!

A well crafted CD, containing a perfect blend of styles
author: Dennis Kelly
The five track EP entitled 'Human Element" eases you in with the quiet beginning of 'Invincible" but gradually builds up with the powerful vocals of Pete Tebar. The song is further accentuated by great harmonies that really compliment Pete and keep the song flowing right along. The song also contains an interesting mixture of reggae influences and what I would like to refer to it as "power rock", it is well blended together and a great song.
Kicking off the heals of one great song and slipping into another, 'Wishing Well" displays the solid, hard rock sound that is the basis of this band. Once again Pete's vocals really reach out and grab your attention but the guitars, bass and drums certainly can't be ignored. Solid, tight beats laid down by Mark Hernandez, great bass lines by Michael Todd and the guitars played by Pete and Dave Cohen have a clean sound with a nice trade off on solos that don't overpower the song.
'Complications," is the third track, and one thing that this band does really well is melody, the beginning half of the song is a great example of it. But once the chorus kicks in, it shifts into a nice hard rock mode and continues through to the end of the song.
My ultimate favorite track on this CD is 'Lovely Lady Dove," a full fledged ballad in the best kind of way. It is one of those songs you can't get enough of hearing and want to play over and over. There's beautiful guitar work done on this song and Pete sings in perfect harmony with them, it's great.
The final track gives you the perfect example of how radio is and Society X breaks loose and shows you what they think of it by belting out the heaviest of their songs. 'Crash Course Monkey," is a great hard rock/metal song, loud and powerful what more could one ask?
All in all, 'Human Element" is the perfect sampler for anyone that wants to know what their about. I highly recommend picking it up if you get the chance.

Chicago has always been one city that knows music, in
particulary, rock and roll. The Windy City did give
the rock world Cheap Trick,Styx and Smashing Pumpkins,
right? Well folks, let me introduce you to a rock
band, that you are going to be hearing alot more from
in the future. The band's called, SOCIETY X. Pete
Tebar on vocals/guitar, Dave Cohen on gutiar/vocals,
Michael Todd on bass/vocals
and Mark Hernandez on drums. Picture if you will, the
melodic side of Alice In Chains, with a dash of King's
X thrown in to spice things up. On songs like,
"Wishing Well" and "Invincible", Society X proves they
are not just some run of the mill rock band. Society
X's music hits much deeper than the sugar coated crap
thatis bombarding the radio waves today. That's what
got me so hooked on Society X. Their willingness to go
against the grain and bring to the table, their own
music the way they want it, not conforming to the
pressures of "Corporate America". Society X is
definitely a band worth checking out. Once you do,
you'll hear and feel where I'm coming from. Heads up,
rock fans, Society X is coming and these boys mean
business. Great stuff that comes highly recomended. -
The Atomic Chaser Rating: B EXCELLENT
