Album Notes

Garage-Glam! Soho Vamp is a Hollywood-based power-pop trio. Their original songs range from catchy rock anthems to shadowy sensual ballads. Lyricist Tom Mesmer wears his heart on his glitter-encrusted sleeve. The band engages audiences with their dedication to not just the ROCK, but the SHOW!

Soho Vamp’s look matches their pose as unabashed rock stars. Full make-up, high-heeled boots, silver trousers, jewelry, sequins, and nail lacquer will get the night started off right. Their sound is that hi-watt lo-fi garage din reminiscent of T.Rex, Bowie, Slade and Sweet. It’s bubblegum-blues with a twist of pomp. Inspired by writers ranging from Oscar Wilde to Dostoyevsky, Mesmer’s lyrics can provoke themes of destiny, good and evil, and jubilation. Soho Vamp’s songs “Diamondback Cadillac” and “Parasite” even caught the ear of horror legend Wes Craven for last summer’s hit film Red Eye. Their debut album released March 2006 has spawned another single, "Tophat Tomcat", to be featured in the soon to be released film The Breed, starring Michelle Rodriguez.

Fun, Raw and Rockin'! Soho Vamp knows how to entertain.

Soho Vamp is what a Hollywood band should be, Fun, Raw and Rockin'. I bought this CD when they played at Carpe DM in Simi Valley and it’s been my CD of choice ever since. The songs are a great mix of loud and rowdy too slightly moody. Buy it, you won’t be disappointed. Better yet go catch them live on stage, you’ll be hooked.
