Part 2 of a 3 part series, "Iman" travels like a song bird, gliding over a sea of string arrangements and percussion, as haunting vocals reminisce of memories of lost faith and renewed devotion.
Iman is more uplifting and minimal than most Solace releases in that instead of the typical "in your face" compositions; Iman pulls back on some of the heaviness of the music, showcasing the beautiful subtleties of the strings, percussion and vocals. Many have said that Iman seems more user friendly for American ears as well as more accessible for Middle Eastern Dance.

Beautiful soundscapes paired with Dead Can Dance intensity equals Solace
author: Solace Fan
This CD begins with an emotive vocal that leads to a driving, passionate, percussive piece. Entrancing from the first, Iman pulls you in and makes you feel every emotion possible. With many tempo changes and a brooding underlying tone, you will feel mesmerized one moment, and thrilled the next. Full of gorgeous layers, you will be delighted by each new track. My personal favorite is the Loreena McKennit-like Azure.

emotionally intense
author: farah
Iman is one of the emotionally evocative and intense cds that I've ever heard. Listening to this work by Solace is a spiritual experience that cannot be taken lightly. As a Middle Eastern dance artist, I highly recommend this to belly dancers who are looking for new and strong material to use in performance.
