Benefits: Why Play Music To Your Baby?
Studies have shown there are many physical, emotional and intellectual developmental
benefits for babies of being exposed to gentle and varied rhythmic musical arrangements,
both in-utero as well as in the first six months after birth. It is thought that babies may
actually remember music and sounds they have heard whilst in the womb.
When a pregnant woman meditates with SOLACE, her fetus can hear the music
and once her baby is born, replaying SOLACE will echo in the child’s cellular memory.
This is a powerful way of building on those early moments of the fetus’s physical
development inside the body of the mother, creating linked moments of connectedness
that are totally beyond language, in the early months after birth. Dad too can share
in these moments, building emotional and physical attachment by playing the music
with his baby, the baby fusing new memories with Dad that are deeply connected
to the baby’s early cellular development in the womb.
Research has shown that some babies demonstrate a preference for gentle music rhythms.
Babies may remember music they've listened to in utero.
At Bubzilla our goal is to create quality products to add to the physical, emotional
and intellectual development of new babies and enhance the experience of parenthood.
Bubzilla and well respected Australian musician Dragan Stanic have created SOLACE, a musical
CD that can be used as a tool to reduce stress for contemporary Mums and Dads as well
as assisting in bonding and attachment with their new little ones. SOLACE is a multi-functional
music product in that it can assist with the care of your pre-natal and newborn infant, as well
as aid yoga, meditation, or self-relaxation for adults. Whether you want to lull your baby to
sleep; create a regular space and time to shut out the rest of the world with you and
your baby; create powerful moments of bonding with your baby; strengthen the attachments
between father and baby; or just to add to your own sense of well-being,
then SOLACE is the CD for you.

The Music
SOLACE is the results of a collaborative project between Bubzilla and the creative
efforts of multi-instrumentalist Dragan Stanic, who wrote, performed, & produced all of the
music on this CD. SOLACE was produced using the organic sounds of different guitars from
around the world to promote a peaceful, relaxing environment for families. The tranquility
of Dragan’s guitar music is apparent from the first few bars of music. It enfolds and gradually
lulls the listener into a restful, still quiet….
The music on SOLACE was created using four types of stringed instruments: blending the
sounds of familiar classical and steel-stringed guitars with the lyrical Spanish laud and
the Turkish oud. These instruments were first developed in ancient times -it is believed
that the history of the classical guitar began in the ancient Near East (Babylonia), growing
in popularity throughout Europe over the centuries. The oud is a deep soulful-sounding
instrument with a small oval body. Throughout history versions of this instrument have
made their mark in various civilizations including Spain, China, Turkey, Greece, Africa, and Iran.
