ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Soldier On is a band...

And when you start a band with people who love music as much as Jim DeSanto and Erin Powers do, it's no surprise the result is something worth paying attention to. Soldier On is a collaboration a long time in the making. DeSanto and Powers started playing music together in College back in 1999 and have just gotten around to recording their first record together.

If you asked Jim and Erin who they sound like, you'd most likely get uncomfortable smiles -- mostly because they feel like they shouldn't be mentioned in the same breathe as the people they are often told they "kinda" sound like. Humility aside, those "people" include established artists like Bruce Springsteen and U2 but also newer artists who have greatly influenced them like Brandi Carlile, Matt Nathanson, The Swell Season and The Gaslight Anthem.

You might call it "blue-collar folk-rock" -- but to them it's just "playing and writing what we like." Well, if their self-titled debut record is any indication, here's hoping they keep at it.

Above all, Jim and Erin hope their music inspires fans to live, love and always, most importantly, Soldier On.
