Album Notes

Sterling discovered a love for music at a young age. During his teenage years, he learned to play saxophone, piano and clarinet. In time, Sterling realized that he also had an ear-friendly voice and a talent for writing original music. Shortly thereafter, Sterling began singing background and later, lead vocals while also playing keyboards with several local NYC bands.

After spending some time in the local band scene, Sterling decided to take time off and began concentrating on his writing.

Sterling's writing and warmly evocative vocal style is richly rooted in Soul and Classic R&B and has been greatly influenced by song masters such as Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Stephanie Mills, and Barry White, as well as today's privotal breed of R&B performers, particularly Brian McKnight, Anthony Hamilton, Musiq Soul Child, John Legend and Robin Thicke. While Sterling appreciates these varied and flavorful artists, he is carefully crafting his own unique "strictly Sterling" brand of sound.

Now back on the performing scene, Sterling has performed at the New York International Music and Film Festival, the Soul Cafe and very recently at the Triad New York Theatre.

Sterling is embarking on a solo music career and with his arsenal of songs now presents his first release entitled "Solo Sterling".
