Amazing Live Set....Progressive And Creative To The Max!
author: THE BROKEN STRING CHRONICLES
LIVE BEYOND THE GALAXY, the 2nd independent release by the musically spiritual collective, SOLSTICE, is an amazing live set of progressive jazz/rock explorations. Even though some tracks are included from the first CD, they are almost completely different songs in the versions presented here. Khari Wynn's complex song arrangements and raise-the-dead guitar solos make it worthwhile, but the special guests add to the greatness. The CD is really 3 sections: 1. trio (guitar/bass/drums) 2. Guitar/Bass/Drums/Keys 3. Guitar/Bass/Drums/Keys/Sax,Flute In between, you'll hear cosmic interludes composed of alien voices. Randy Westbrook adds deep flavor with his piano, Moog synthesizer, and Rhodes. Hope Clayburn also enhances the experience with her dissonant sax and atmospheric flute. Any fans of progressive instrumental music will dig this. A source tells me that Khari Wynn will also be featured on a new CD project to be released next year called "Amerika." I was told that it will be a hard-to-label rock release. Cheers, Tony Mac (writer for THE BROKEN STRING CHRONICLES) www.brokenstringrecords.com
