Real deal prog rock drawing from a breadth of influences
author: Clubber Lang
I love this CD, and where theSSSe guys are coming from. The best way I can describe it is that it's fully immersed in influences like King Crimson, Yes, Gabriel-era Genesis, and a good dose of Rush, but it also sounds totally modern and new. It's clear that these guys are all excellent musicians and that they've been listening to a lot more than just prog. The cheese factor is very low. The rock factor is very high.

"Highly Recommended"
author: Aural Innovations
Weirdness aside, Solution Science Systems play some pretty good prog-rock.... While the individual tracks are a little short (nothing over 8 min), it has a concept feel (surprise) and the songs easily move from one to the next; all of them seamlessly creating this huge thing. There’s lots of tempo and mood changes, little background bits, and of course weirdness by the bushel. The playing is good and the lead vocals are sung (as opposed to screamed) by a vocalist with a nice voice. There’s bits of everything, pick your fave, it’s in here somewhere. The nice thing, is that it doesn’t really sound derivative. Highly recommended.

...Solution Science Systems seem to manage a hybrid between King Crimson and a Roger Waters' 'flow' of ideas and sounds (ala Amused To Death). Imagine! There's also one or two hints towards Yes as well - with occasional blasts of the lovely mellotron! The guitar and bass work is superb, not exactly demons of twiddly, but showing, at times, a magical symbiosis, and the drums hold it all together. It's a real roller coaster of ballads, rock, and damn near classical as SSS roll through some truly awesome songs. The more I listen, the more I hear Yes, and they pull it off really well....
